MIME ARTS SUMMER SCHOOL

In Search of the New Mime

From July 20 to 24, 2026
Teatro del Montevaso – Chianni (PI) – Tuscany

A residential full immersion dedicated to the Arts of Mime, in the splendid setting of the Tuscan hills! It will be an intensive week where you can learn, consolidate, and explore your personal Art of Mime.

Training + exploration + creation + connection!

This week features a wide range of techniques, stimuli, and theoretical principles that provide participants with tools to explore a personal path to physical storytelling.

From Mime-Dance to Street Mime, from Children’s Theatre to Experimental Mime…

Like every Art, different genres can exist in Mime starting from the same principles, giving life to as many styles as there are artists who practice it.

This is a new method, a vision of Mime called “Nouveau Mime.”

Teatro del Montevaso

Located in the hills of Chianni, Tuscany, Teatro del Montevaso was founded in 1994 as an artistic and civil project deeply rooted in nature and folk traditions. Originally founded as “Teatro Agricolo,” it has seen prominent figures of the contemporary scene among its protagonists, such as Ascanio Celestini, Gaetano Ventriglia, and Jean Meningue.

The center’s philosophy is based on the meeting between theatrical research and rural hospitality, transforming the farm into a permanent laboratory for training and creation. Today, Teatro del Montevaso is an international reference point for residential seminars and auteur productions, where stage art strips away the superfluous to rediscover an authentic and communal dimension.
